Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how Smart Auto Keys supplies vehicle keys, cutting, programming, diagnostic and related auto-locksmith services. They apply to enquiries, quotations and orders placed through our website, by telephone, message, email, at our workshop or during a mobile appointment.
1. About us
Smart Auto Keys operates from Park View, behind Dermacy Clinic, Church St, Doncaster DN3 3AG. You can contact us by calling, texting or using WhatsApp on 07562 247365.
2. Quotations and compatibility
Vehicle keys may differ by build date, blade, transponder, remote frequency, immobiliser system and equipment level. Any initial indication is subject to confirmation using the vehicle registration, VIN where necessary, the existing key and diagnostic checks. A contract is formed only when we confirm the specification, scope, total price and accept the order.
Website catalogue information is a compatibility guide and is not a promise that a particular key is suitable for every vehicle sharing the same model name.
3. Identity, authority and vehicle ownership
For security-sensitive work we may require contact verification, photographic identification and evidence that you own or are authorised to act for the vehicle. We may refuse or stop work where satisfactory evidence is not provided or where we reasonably suspect fraud, theft or unlawful activity.
4. Prices and payment
The confirmed price, including applicable taxes and any agreed mobile, delivery or additional work charge, will be provided before an order is enabled or work starts. Payment timing and accepted methods will be stated in the quotation or order confirmation. Additional work will not be charged without your agreement, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent damage and it is impracticable to obtain instructions.
5. Customer information and vehicle condition
You must provide accurate vehicle and key information and disclose relevant faults, previous modifications, warning lights, lost or stolen keys and known electrical or immobiliser problems. Programming can reveal pre-existing vehicle faults. We are not responsible for a pre-existing defect, inaccurate information or a fault outside the key or work we supplied, but this does not limit liability where the law does not allow it.
6. Appointments, access and delays
You must provide safe and lawful access to the vehicle and ensure it is in an appropriate location for the agreed work. Times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. We will tell you about a material delay and agree a reasonable alternative. Weather, unsafe conditions, unavailable manufacturer data, parts delays or vehicle faults may require rescheduling.
7. Cancellation rights
Consumers entering a distance or off-premises contract will normally have 14 days to cancel, subject to statutory exceptions. If you expressly ask us to begin a service during the cancellation period, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for work completed before cancellation. If the service is fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement, the cancellation right may end.
A key that has been cut, programmed, coded or otherwise made to your vehicle specification may be a bespoke or personalised item for which the change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply. This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty, not as described or the service was not carried out with reasonable care and skill.
8. Returns, faults and remedies
Please notify us promptly if you believe a supplied key or service is faulty. We may need to inspect and test the key and vehicle before deciding the appropriate remedy. Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, this may include repair, replacement, repeat performance, price reduction or refund. See our Warranty and Cancellation Policy.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses where you contract as a consumer, or for losses caused by inaccurate information, unauthorised modifications or pre-existing vehicle faults.
10. Website and intellectual property
Website text, photographs, branding and catalogue organisation belong to Smart Auto Keys or their respective rights holders. Vehicle manufacturer names and marks identify compatibility and do not imply endorsement.
11. Complaints
Contact us first so we can investigate. Provide your name, vehicle registration, order or invoice reference, the date of work and a clear description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and provide a substantive response after any necessary inspection.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in another UK jurisdiction where applicable.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
